His practice includes workers' compensation, transportation, insurance defense, and personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr, recently appointed Mr. Macleay as a Worker's Compensation Commissioner for the State of Maryland. Mr. Macleay will begin serving a twelve year term on August 1, 2005. Mr. Macleay is a member of the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of Baltimore City, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, the Maryland Defense Counsel. He is also a member of the Association for Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy, and is one of only four Maryland Attorney Members, nationwide, in the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA). He regularly attends the American Bar Association's Transportation Megaconference. Active in the workers' compensation and insurance arenas, Mr. Macleay routinely attends the Maryland Workers' Compensation Educational Association, Inc.'s annual conference, and testified before the Joint Legislative Oversight Task Force pertaining pending legislation affecting Workers' Compensation statutes in Maryland. In addition, he served on a legislative oversight panel concerning insurance coverage and the rental car industry. In 1997 Mr. Macleay served as President of the Board of Trustees of the José Marti´ Monument Foundation, and was integral in having a monument honoring José Marti´, a Cuban patriot, erected in Baltimore City. Mr. Macleay maintains ties to the Hispanic community and serves as counsel to the Foundation. When not practicing law, Mr. Macleay enjoys coaching little league baseball and spending time on the Chesapeake Bay. He is a member of the Baltimore Chapter of the St. Andrew's Society. Farley v.
